What Does Aronia Landscape Design & Construction Do?

Aronia is a sustainable landscape design-build firm specializing in ecological landscape design, native plant landscapes, green roof systems, and custom outdoor living environments.

We work on residential, commercial, and mixed-use properties, creating landscapes that are visually refined, environmentally responsible, and built to perform over time.

Aronia is design-led and sustainability-driven. Rather than focusing on quick installations, we emphasize thoughtful planning, material integrity, and long-term performance. Our clients value our reliability, communication, and attention to detail, particularly on complex urban, commercial, and coastal projects where execution matters.

We are based in South Jersey and provide landscape design and construction services throughout South Jersey, Central New Jersey, the Jersey Shore, the City of Philadelphia, and the greater Philadelphia metropolitan area.

Yes. We regularly design and build landscapes at the Jersey Shore, where salt exposure, wind, sandy soils, drainage demands, and seasonal use require a higher level of planning and construction. Our coastal projects are designed to be durable, low-stress to maintain, and visually refined.

Our design-build process includes an initial consultation and site evaluation, conceptual design, planting and material selection, detailed construction planning, professional installation, and a final walkthrough to ensure quality and alignment with the design intent.

Aronia designs bespoke outdoor living environments and refined hardscape compositions for both residential and commercial properties. Our work includes patios and terraces, outdoor kitchens, fire and water features, seating and retaining walls, walkways, and layered outdoor rooms. We work with natural stone, premium architectural concrete, and high-quality faux stone products, with careful attention to drainage, grading, and long-term durability across coastal, urban, and regional climates.

Aronia is not positioned as a value-based or lowest-cost landscape contractor. We operate as a high-end, design-driven landscape design-build firm, and our pricing reflects the level of craftsmanship, planning, and execution we bring to every project. We understand that our services may not be the right fit for every budget, and our clients choose us for reliability, quality, communication, and long-term performance rather than competing on price.

Sustainable landscaping focuses on creating outdoor environments that conserve resources, support ecosystems, and perform reliably over time through native plantings, efficient stormwater management, durable materials, and reduced maintenance inputs.

Native plants are species that naturally evolved in North America prior to European settlement. In landscape design, this typically refers to plants indigenous to a specific region, making them well suited to local soils, rainfall patterns, and climate conditions.

Native plants typically require less water and maintenance, improve soil health, support pollinators and wildlife, and are more resilient to pests and disease, offering long-term durability and environmental value.

A green roof is a living roofing system that incorporates vegetation, engineered growing media, drainage layers, and waterproofing over a structure. Green roofs are commonly used on commercial and urban buildings and may also be installed on select residential structures when structural capacity allows.

Green roofs can reduce stormwater runoff, improve insulation and energy efficiency, extend roof lifespan, reduce urban heat island effects, and add visual appeal and usable space in dense environments.

Yes. Aronia works on a range of commercial and mixed-use projects, including office, retail, hospitality, and urban developments, with an understanding of the coordination and quality standards these projects require.

We recommend beginning the design process several months in advance, particularly for spring, summer, and shore-season installations. Larger projects benefit from early planning.
